Select the right neighborhood
Where would you like to live? To answer this question take a few minutes and write down your answers to the questions below: • Where do you work? • Do you drive to work? • Do you need public transportation? • How much time are you willing to spend going to and from work? Get a map, find where you work and look at the neighborhoods you are considering and determine the amount of time you are willing to commute. If you need public transportation get a bus schedule or a rail map of the local systems, to see which neighborhoods they service. For example: If you can spend an hour traveling each way to work and you need public transportation, look at areas one hour’s ride from your work. If you can spend an hour driving each way to work, look at neighborhoods that you can drive to in an hour. Don’t waste time searching for a house in areas that you cannot reach or that are too far away from your job site.
